Campus Core: college life is young India’s biggest content genre right now
College is the biggest show young India is watching right now, and nobody had to pitch it. No studio, no budget, no cast. Just a phone, a canteen, and the fact that every student in the country is living some version of the same semester. We are calling it Campus Core.
What it looks like
A reel from Maharashtra about the mail every student dreads, the one from the college office saying your attendance has put your exam eligibility in question. A video from Modi College, Patiala that is just yaari dosti, start to finish. A parody called “Average delhi university election” roasting everyone performing their way through DUSU season. A clip of a sixteen year old spotted at IIT Delhi, treated like a celebrity sighting.
Different states, different languages, same instinct. Point a camera at the most ordinary part of your day, and it turns out the most ordinary part of your day is what everybody else is living too.
Why it hits
Old campus content was aspirational. Glossy prospectus shots, a place you were trying to get into. This is the opposite. It is about being inside it and being slightly over it.
Nobody films the lecture. They film the notification. The register, the 75 percent threshold, the mail, the panic, and the shared understanding that everyone watching has received that exact message. That is not aspiration. That is solidarity.
It is also why the genre stays local. The Patiala video is not trying to translate itself for anybody. You are not watching Indian college life in the abstract. You are watching your college, or one close enough that the gap is funny instead of alienating.
campus core is not cynicism. it is how people talk about something they already know they are going to miss.
Under all of it: the adda
Strip away the attendance jokes and the election parodies and there is one thing every one of these videos is really about. The hours that are not on the timetable. The canteen table, the tapri outside gate number two, the hostel corridor at 1am. Bengal has had a word for it forever: adda. Long, pointless, essential conversation with the people who get you.
Every breakup, backlog and questionable life decision on campus gets processed there, over cutting chai and zero judgement. Which is where the tee comes in.
How it became a tee
We did not want a college logo shirt, and we did not want an attendance joke that dies by next semester. We wanted the thing under the trend. So we made Adda is Therapy.
The word stays in Bengali. আড্ডা is written the way it is written on College Street. We did not translate it, because it does not translate. If you know, you know, and if you do not, someone at your adda will explain it for forty minutes.
The punchline is in English. “IS THERAPY”, plain white caps, right under it. That is the half everyone gets instantly. ₹2000 a session, or one long evening with your people. Same outcome, honestly.
The illustration is nobody in a hurry. Sunglasses, a glass of chai, sitting on the ground like he has been there since morning, with a kid next to him already learning the craft. Adda is inherited. You pick it up from whoever was sitting there before you.
Army green, on purpose. It is the colour of canteen benches, hostel trunks and that one notice board nobody has updated since 2019. It looks like campus without saying campus.
Small print, big shirt. The design sits chest centre like a badge, not a billboard, on a heavy 240 GSM oversized fit. It is built for a four hour sitting.

Where this goes
Campus Core is not a one week thing. Songs drop and fade, games release and get forgotten, but a new batch walks into college every single year and discovers the attendance mail for the first time.
