Five things young India is on about this week. The comedy is in every language except English, Punjab owns the playlist, and a seventeen year old just did something no Indian archer had done before. Here is the list.
1. Regional Comedy Szn
Telugu troll edits riding Bigg Boss 10 Telugu. A Telugu short about a mother in law, cut with a Samantha movie meme. A Bengali meme titled, simply, “Girlfriend = Durga maa”. A Tamil short called “RIP Non-Veg”, made for Purattasi, the month a lot of Tamil homes go vegetarian. A Marathi AI baby comedy clip. None of it is in English and none of it needs to be. This one has been building for weeks, so we wrote the full story, including the tee it turned into: read Regional Comedy Szn.
2. Campus Core
Still the biggest genre going. The Modi College, Patiala yaari dosti video refuses to leave the feed. A Delhi University student’s “regular college life” minivlog is doing what DU minivlogs do. Chennai has its own version of college student life on YouTube. And in Bengal, half the timeline is the WBCAP admission merit list, now in its fourth phase. Same semester, four states.
3. Punjabi Wave
Punjab has the playlist this week. Yo Yo Honey Singh dropped the full video for “Casa Tupka Anthemo” featuring Priyanshi. Sidhu Moose Wala has a new one, “Ghostface Killah” with Mxrci and Navkaran Brar, and his catalogue keeps growing years after he was killed. Off the music charts, Punjabi suit design shorts for 2026 are everywhere out of Punjab. The sound, the look and the swagger, all coming from one state.
4. Asian Games Szn
Reddit had one name this week: Kumkum Mohod. Seventeen years old, she won recurve archery individual gold at the Asian Games, the first Indian ever to do it, and she took it in a shoot-off against Korea’s Oh Yejin. A couple of weeks back the same threads were roasting how the Games were being run. This week it is just pride.
5. GTA 6 Waiting Room
The waiting room has a TV, and it is playing GTA 5. Indian YouTube is full of GTA 5 live streams that have been running for weeks, plus one promising a “secret mod activated”. Nobody is waiting quietly.
